New Zealand based Sheena Denmead is a Softgoods Product Designer and Sustainability Practitioner, who works with lifestyle and outdoor brands like Bellroy, Kathmandu, Macpac, Integral Designs, Ambler, Kelty, and True – brands that seek to produce more responsible products.

The challenge was to develop a word mark and visual language that resonates with Sheena’s ethos and skills and to tell a story about her, personally.

Sheena is lives and works Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park – home of the highest mountains and the longest glaciers in New Zealand. It is in this crisp alpine environment – with peaks, glaciers, permanent snow fields –where she can witness one of New Zealand's glaciers retreating quickly. She is very aware of the effects of climate change, which propels her to create better products and inspired the visual language for her brand.

The 'Make It Better' brand became a beacon for Sheena's values and expertise. The visual language and word mark empower her to communicate her expertise and values with confidence and foster connections and collaborations with brands that share her passion for sustainable product solutions.

“We have only 50 years to make the changes needed to ensure our wellbeing on earth for the next 10,000 years, since we have crossed planetary boundaries.

Organisations can make bigger changes and have more impact than an individual, so we must use business as a force for good. The goal is to effect change from within, to help many brands make small changes that are impactful, meaningful to them and relevant to their audience.”
